The Centre reaches out to children who may be
• failing in school
• acting out, sometimes violently, in the community
or at home
• experiencing developmental delays or disorders,
including autism
• isolating themselves from relationships
• demonstrating impulsive behaviour and poor
judgement
• depressed, sometimes to the point of being
suicidal
• struggling with learning disabilities
Often these children have experienced:
• sexual or physical abuse
• psychiatric disorders such as depression or
psychosis
• alcohol or drug use
• inconsistent and chaotic family life
• family violence
• separation and divorce of their parents
